The Fever Series

This might be my favorite series ever! And I do not say that lightly. Everything about it is perfect. When I imagine writing a series of my own I just want to write the characters and premise of these books. That’s how much I love them.

The plot is one of my favorites. It’s unique and well thought out. One of my favorite things about the author is that she let’s bad things happen and then lets the characters navigate the difficult situations they find themselves in. She doesn’t just build up to something bad and then at the last minute let one of the characters save the day. Nope. Not Karen Marie Moning. She knows that the characters she writes are worthy of the plot and she tests them… constantly. These books are dark and gritty. I’ve found myself crying because I’m laughing so hard and laughing through my tears of sadness at the expense of these books.

The other thing I love so much about these books is the characters. They have substance! So much so that I could have imagining conversations with these characters and know exacting what they would say and how they would say it. And that’s not to say these characters are one dimensional, because they are not! Karen’s characters are unique, multifaceted, and have great character development throughout the books.

These books will come alive in your hands. If you read nothing else from my blog, read this series! (As long as you like Urban Fantasy. One thing I can’t do is make you like a book from a genre you’re not into.)
